SO MUCH FOR UNITY MCKEE’S FIRST GENERAL ELECTION AD ATTACKS FORMER PRIMARY OPPONENTS

WARWICK, RI – Today, Matthew Hanrahan, spokesman for the Ashley Kalus for Governor campaign, released the below statement following Dan McKee’s attack ad against Nellie Gorbea and Helena Foulkes airing on WJAR this morning.

Hanrahan said, “Dan McKee is off to a rough start. After an unimpressive primary victory, where 68% of the democratic primary electorate voted against him, he steps in it again. First, he disrespects Helena Foulkes by refusing to take her concession call on live television, stating, ‘Hang Up On Them!’ which drove the news for two days. This was after he attacked Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott for endorsing Helena Foulkes. And now his attack ad against his former opponents runs on television. This has been a comedy of errors for McKee. Rhode Island deserves a governor who doesn’t have a track record of disrespecting women in power.”
